PINOT GRIS - 2008 - $21 (New Release)
We’re pleased to announce the 2008 Pinot Gris (GOLD Medal - Yarra Valley Wine Show 2008)
Pale straw colour. It has a light and slightly savory nose. The palate is delicate and clean and mineral, with green olive, lime leaf and zest. A refreshing spring drinking style, pack it in the picnic and drink with summer greens and antipasto.
ARNEIS - 2008 - $21
While only the first Arneis we have made, this is turning out to be a deliciously fresh, yet still intricate, white variety. Native to Piedmont (Italy) arneis, literally translated, means "little rascal" due to being regarded as a difficult grape to grow. It is made in a dry style, with clear characteristics of green apple, sour pear and almonds, making it a good match for a warm summers day, or matched with such foods as a good Marinara dish, or other seafood dishes.
VIOGNIER - 2008 - $21
A youthful pale straw colour. The nose is pure and varietal with stone-fruit, orange blossom and undertones of tangerine. The palate is well weighted and brimming with apricots, nectarines and exotic spice. This wine oozes class, is rich, silky in texture and lingering, pleasantly.
ROSE - CABERNET - 2008 - $21
The 2007 Coombe Farm Rose is made from the Cabernet Sauvignon grape providing added structure, complexity and depth of fruit flavour. Its colour is a bright transparent ruby, with inviting confectionery fruit nose of strawberries and raspberries. A medium weight, fruit driven palate gives the impression of sweetness yet finishes dry with non-cloying acidity. Great on its own, or match with just about any food.
