At Coombe Farm we pride ourselves on making wines from the best fruit our estate has to offer. All our wines are hand harvested and crafted to uphold varietal integrity, whilst expressing the classic terroir which the Yarra Valley is so renowned. With minimal filtration and fining our wines are gentle in approach, with seamless structure and persistence in flavour.

Our Chardonnay is an ‘old-world’ style; generous, rich and creamy, whilst the Pinot Noir is tight spicy and cherry like. Our Cabernet blend is richly flavoured with fine tannins. We also produce a tiny and sought-after selection of other fine and less-common varieties such as Pinot Gris, Viognier and Arneis, all of which ensures a diverse and delightful experience when visiting our cellar door.

Pinot Gris - 2007. Pale straw colour. It has a light and slightly savory nose reminiscent of fresh ocean air. The palate is delicate and cleansing, with green olives, lime leaf and fresh minerality. A refreshing spring drinking style, pack it in the picnic and drink with antipasto.Viognier - 2007. Fresh from the success of our 2006 vintage, we're pleased to announce our latest 2007 release. This latest edition is a youthful pale straw colour with a faint greenish tinge. The nose is pure and varietal with stone-fruit, orange blossom and undertones tangerine. The palate is well weighted and brimming with apricots, nectarines and exotic spice. This wine oozes class with its rich, silky texture and lingering flavour.Chardonnay - 2005. Golden yellow colour; indicating a moderately mature and full bodied wine. Pear and nashi apple greet the nose with undertones of almond and a subtle spice. The palate is full yet zesty with fig and cashew to head a barrage of complexity. A refined and 'old world' style chardonnay expressing great food matching potential. Rose -Cabernet - 2007. Made from the Cabernet Sauvignon grape providing added structure, complexity and depth of fruit flavour. Its colour is a bright transparent ruby, with inviting confectionery fruit nose of strawberries and raspberries. A medium weight, fruit driven palate gives the impression of sweetness yet finishes dry with non-cloying acidity. Great on it's own, or match with just about any food style.BRONZE - AUSTRALIAN BOUTIQUE WINE AWARDS - Pinot Noir - 2006. Bright cherry colour. The bouquet is tightly structured with clean fruit flavours; black cherry, sour berry fruits with a hint of floral spice. The palate offers delicate fruit balance; its complex savory characters are complemented by a fine tannin structure and seamless acidity. This wine will reward the patient and evolve for the next 5-7 years.Merlot - 2005. A rich plum colour. This wine displays dark forest fruits on the nose; blueberry fruit with a subtle vanillin oak. The palate is a rich dark chocolate and blackberries, ripe plums and neatly integrated firm chalky tannins.Cabernet Merlot - 2005. Deep morrelo cherry in colour. This wine displays juicy cassis and bramble fruit with a delicate mocha undertone. The palate is classic Yarra Valley Cabernets; forest fruits, cherry and dark plum. A beautifully structured wine with persistent flavor and gripping tannins. This wine will continue to evolve with careful cellaring for the next 10 years.
