Nicole Esdaile

General Manager & Winemaker

Nicole joined Coombe Farm on a permanent basis in January 2011 but has been consulting to us since late 2009.

Nicole is both a winemaker and a pharmacist and has over fifteen years experience in the wine industry in senior management roles, most recently as Chief Winemaker at Rutherglen Estates and previously as Senior Winemaker at Capel Vale Wines in Western Australia.

Of her new role at Coombe Farm Nicole says: "It is a very exciting new challenge for me. Coombe Farm has enormous potential. We have a great viticultural site, we produce fantastic fruit, our vineyards are approaching full maturity and we have the resources to trial new clones and varieties. I'm looking forward to seeing what we can do!"

Xavier Mende

Viticulturalist & Vineyard Manager

Xavier has overseen and tended the vineyards of Coombe Farm since they were planted in 1998.

Xavier has gained a wealth of experience working in wineries and vineyards all over Australia and has a great understanding of the nuances of both the Coombe Farm site and the Yarra Valley. He is highly regarded by all the winemakers with whom he deals and is an integral part of Coombe Farm viticultural and winemaking operations.
