Until early September 2011 Pamela, Lady Vestey, the grand-daughter of Dame Nellie Melba was still residing on the estate in Coombe Cottage.
Pamela married Lord William Vestey in 1939 and he was killed in action in 1944. Lady Vestey passed away on Friday 2nd September 2011, aged 92. She will be sadly missed and very fondly remembered.
Her two sons, Lord Samuel Vestey and the Hon. Mark Vestey will continue as owners and Directors of the Coombe Farm estate.
Both the Vesteys are Directors of The Vestey Group, a UK-based family company with extensive international farming and food producing interests. They are involved in horse racing and were both international polo players. Coombe Farm sponsors a successful polo team in the United Kingdom.
Coombe Cottage is not currently open to the public.
